Confessions & animations of a games animator
Tak: and the guardians of gross is a third-person action adventure released in 2008 on wii & ps2. I was cutscene supervisor on the project, and took control of the four fully rendered cutscenes that appeared in the game. This included:
Script edits
Storyboarding
Rigging of characters (meshes were directly provided from the show)
Cinematography & staging
Animation direction, critique & sign off
Some fx
lighting & rendering
compositing & editing
I worked with an animation studio in Malaysia who produced the majority of the character animation, critiquing all work throughout the process.  Certainly some lessons learned on this project & some crazy hours to boot. Having complete control over the look & execution of the cutscenes was the real highlight, although I’d certainly do things differently if starting a project like that now. I’ll start posting them soon.
